A selective medium made of the traditional chocolate agar formulation with the addition of antimicrobics to suppress the growth of all but Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Neisseria meningitidis in order to isolate and identify gonorrhea in the culture. A negative culture may indicate a chlamydia infection.
